Tencent's TenPayGo lets foreigners pay in China with a credit card, no WeChat account needed

Tencent has launched TenPayGo, an app that essentially unbundles WeChat Pay's card binding and payment features for foreign visitors.
Users can register with just an email (no WeChat account), link an international credit card, and pay anywhere WeChat Pay is accepted in China. The author tested it with a 28 CNY purchase during the promotional period and paid zero fees (0.84 CNY waived).
For indie developers there's a practical angle too: earnings from overseas websites can now be spent directly inside China via TenPayGo.
