"AI will replace everything" takes come from people who never engage with the field

Adam Singer mocked the pattern that people declaring "AI will replace all music/literature/relationships/lawyers" are precisely those who don't listen to music, read, have friends, or practice law. Andy Masley quoted and extended the point: AI's real replacement target is incorrect beliefs in philosophy of mind — the notion that human minds are trivially replicable.
