IIT Delhi Team Builds GeoTwin 4D City Digital Twin With AI Flood, Traffic and Pollution Monitoring

A team at IIT Delhi, working with EarthSense Labs, has built GeoTwin 4D — a city-scale digital twin prototyped over Guwahati, India, in six months, built entirely in India. It streams terabytes of LiDAR point cloud (3D buildings, roads, railways) with AI integration for street-scale urban flooding, landslides, encroachment monitoring, traffic and route optimization, and building-level data. In four months they added working weather monitoring and forecasts (cleverly leveraging Zomato's widespread weather sensors), pollution monitoring, InSAR-based ground movement detection, and real-time traffic monitoring.
