After OpenAI shipped dots (cloud-resident background agents for Pro users, with GPT-6 Astra and 4,000+ connected apps), the indie dev behind open-source Thursday — building the same idea since September — published a fair comparison. Thursday runs locally via npx thursday-agent on a ChatGPT Plus sign-in or API key (voice $0.05/min), gets your files, shell and signed-in sites, runs teams of up to 8 bots handing off work you can watch live, keeps a GPT-Live 1 call open while bots work, and lets each bot use any provider (Claude, Gemini, xAI). MIT-licensed; Mac-first, Linux tested, no local models. His open question: cloud or local background agents?
