Brother uses AI to give sibling with rare leukodystrophy texting and gaming back

The author's brother has ultra-rare Tubb4a-related leukodystrophy and can no longer walk, talk, or use eye tracking — but he can still move his head left and right. Building on that, the author used AI to give him independence again: this week they shipped 3 new games (a Mario Kart-like racer, a 3D Angry Birds, and a pet simulator) with Astra and Opus 5.5. Everything is free and open source so other families can build on it.
