flyverse: open framework runs whole fly connectomes in strange simulated worlds
repligate · x · 2026-09-30
Researcher AlkahestMu announced flyverse, an extensible simulation framework that places entire fly connectomes (or even two at once) into unconventional simulated environments. The initial release ships with a handful of ready-made simulations, and the author invites others to build their own.
The project turns whole-brain connectome data from static wiring diagrams into agents that can be embedded in dynamic worlds for behavioral experiments — interesting for both neuroscience and AI architecture research.
