Microsoft details WSLC architecture as Linux containers on Windows go GA

Microsoft's WSL Containers (wslc) is now generally available via the new wslc.exe command, with an architecture deep dive from senior engineer Pierre Boulay:
- Session model: like WSL, clients call the privileged wslservice.exe Windows service, which creates VMs (via HCS) to run Linux workflows.
- Key difference: wslservice.exe does not retain VM ownership; it spawns a per-user wslcsession.exe child process that handles session operations (creating containers, mounting directories, binding ports).
- This gives strong inter-session isolation and reinforced security boundaries.
A major architectural change from WSL, worth understanding for anyone running Linux containers on Windows.
