OpenAI launches ChatGPT plugin extensions and backs proposed MCP Events spec

OpenAI's developer account announced Plugin Extensions, letting developers build interactive panels, file viewers, and a sidebar home inside ChatGPT, with clearer feedback during plugin review. It also adds support for the proposed MCP Events specification, so events in connected apps can trigger automations inside ChatGPT. Documentation is live on the OpenAI developer site.
