Trump announced a 'Super Intelligence' Accord on Truth Social, with executives from Google, OpenAI, Anthropic, Meta, xAI and Nvidia signing a White House AI safety accord.
The one-page document asks each company to adopt four safeguards: build robust internal controls for frontier AI safety, staff internal teams to run them, hire outside auditors to verify the work, and create a board committee to oversee it.
Mark Zuckerberg said signatories agreed their boards would independently review the auditors' reports, making corporate directors the last line of review.
Enforcement relies on peer pressure — Trump called the accord 'morally binding' and said companies would be kept in line through 'self-policing and group policing.' The document notes the steps could later become laws or regulations, but the House isn't expected back until after the November midterms.
