A screenshot of OpenAI's official email reveals coming changes:
- A new Pro 500 tier with the highest usage limits and Ultrafast, plus 'dots' for all Pro customers
- From Oct 30, 2026, Pro 200's included ChatGPT Work and Codex usage drops from 20x to 10x the Plus allowance; GPT-6 Pro chat limits fall from 200 to 100 messages/week, at unchanged pricing
- OpenAI commits not to reintroducing the 5-hour limit
- Existing subscribers get a one-time grant of 62,500 usage credits ($2,500 value), expiring Dec 31, 2026
The company argues GPT-6.1 Sol's near-Astra capabilities mean more work per subscription, but effective allowances are clearly shrinking.
