CppCon Keynote "The Address is Not The Place": New Memory-Hierarchy Tier and Object "Wherency"
lauriewired · x · 2026-09-30
Security researcher lauriewired's CppCon keynote "The Address is Not The Place" is now on YouTube. He notes new tiers are being added to computing's memory hierarchy — a rare event — and developers should think ahead about the programming challenges and possibilities.
The core idea is object "wherency" (where an object lives in memory). He built a demonstrator as a C++26 native implementation and argues the mental model extends to many other languages, including runtime languages.
