Open-source farcall MCP lets Claude Code and Codex call each other until the job is done

Developer kevinkern released farcall-mcp, a free open-source MCP server that lets Claude Code and Codex use each other as workers through a single pending MCP call: one builds or reviews code, the parent waits for the result, then resumes the same session for corrections—no status polling needed.
- Install the Codex worker in Claude Code via /plugin marketplace add regenrek/farcall-mcp, and the Claude worker in Codex similarly
- Start the parent with MCP auto-backgrounding disabled (CLAUDECODEMCPAUTOBACKGROUNDMS=0) and a long tool timeout
