Open source maintainers push back as agents spam PRs to farm GitHub stats

Developer wightmanr strongly disagrees that PRs are now just concrete feature requests. He argues many recent PRs come from people letting agents run wild on open-source code to rack up GitHub stats — from "hey agent, find some problems in this library" rather than someone actually using the code and hitting a real issue — polluting the open-source collaboration ecosystem.
