Maintainers fight AI slop issues by deploying their own agents to clean up code

timm author Ross Wightman complains that open-source maintenance has become death by a thousand cuts: close one trivial issue nobody ever hit and ten more get filed, as AI-generated slop issues flood trackers. Mark Tenenholtz replies that PRs are now basically a more concrete form of feature requests. His counter-strategy: when a clearly agent-filed/assisted issue arrives, he puts his own agents on it to dig into all surrounding code and clean it up, since merging a narrow fix that leaves room for more issues makes no sense.
