The author built an accounts-payable agent that uses Hindsight as a persistent memory layer for invoice approval workflows.
The real problem wasn't invoice matching — it was what happens when a similar invoice exception reappears but the system has forgotten how a human handled it before.
Workflow: Invoice + PO → detect exception → recall similar past decisions → explain context → human decides → retain the decision → recall it next time.
Key design principles:
- The AI retrieves and explains past decisions but never makes the final approve/reject call
- Human decisions form the write boundary — only an explicit reviewer action becomes organizational memory
