OpenAI launches marketplace: Baseten open-weight inference sold via Responses API

Baseten's CEO called OpenAI's marketplace the biggest announcement of the day: customers can now buy open-weight model inference from Baseten directly through OpenAI's Responses API (and Codex).
This brings third-party inference providers into OpenAI's API distribution channel, letting developers call open-weight models without changing endpoints — and marks OpenAI's entry into model hosting reselling.
