Google ships Jetpack Compose A2UI renderer to turn agent streams into native Android UI

Google's Android team released the Jetpack Compose A2UI Renderer, an implementation of the A2UI protocol that lets AI agents stream rich, interactive UIs as native Compose components — without executing arbitrary code. Key capabilities:
- High-performance reactivity (compose-runtime): fine-grained updates via the Compose Snapshot state system, so only affected components recompose during streaming updates or interactions.
- Flexible component APIs (compose-ui): a structured "catalog" pattern maps JSON protocol schemas to native UI, supporting progressive rendering, custom loading states, animated transitions, and two-way bindings that send data back to the agent.
- Design-system agnostic core: adopt the provided Basic Catalog or build custom catalogs.
- Official support for graceful handling of AI hallucinations (a2ui-model).
For Android developers building agent products, this is an official building block on the "agent output as interactive UI" path; docs and samples are live.
