MIT economist and Nobel laureate Daron Acemoglu announced he will post a series of AI threads focused on uncomfortable questions for the current AI discourse, arguing the public conversation isn't tackling the big issues and dangers, and that industry insiders and media neglect important questions. He notes he isn't an AI scientist and aims only to raise neglected questions. AI safety researcher David Krueger says he's eager to see it.
