ClearPath Open-Sources ROSCon 2026 Workshop: ROS 2 Middleware Tuning, DDS/Zenoh Benchmarks
___Mufasaa · x · 2026-09-30
ClearPath Robotics has open-sourced its full ROSCon 2026 workshop "Mastering the Jazzy RMW" on GitHub, covering selection, tuning, and stress-testing of ROS 2 Jazzy middleware.
The premise: many teams stick with defaults or inherited tuning configs that fail under new loads. The workshop replaces guesswork with a repeatable, performance-driven workflow across four hands-on labs:
- Lab 1 Configuration & Tuning: start from defaults and see why they fail;
- Lab 2 On-the-Wire: inspect live DDS and Zenoh traffic;
- Lab 3 Stress Testing: stress-test fleets to expose bottlenecks that only appear at scale;
- Lab 4 Benchmarking & Decision: benchmark Fast DDS vs Cyclone DDS vs Zenoh to make an informed choice.
The repo includes the slide PDF, Docker setups, and a mock robot workspace, free to work through at your own pace.
