DeployGuard: memory recalls, the database attests — agent deployment analysis
amulyakulkarni · reddit · 2026-09-30
The author shares DeployGuard, a prototype deployment-analysis agent. The flow: GitHub → Webhook → change analysis → Hindsight → PostgreSQL → Gemini → validation → updated results.
The key design is separating memory from evidence:
- Hindsight handles semantic recall — e.g. connecting a past DB connection timeout to a reduced connection pool size, a causal link never stored explicitly.
- PostgreSQL holds the actual deployment records as the single source of truth. Recalled memories only identify relevant deployments; risk assessment must retrieve real records as evidence.
- Model output is treated as untrusted input and validated against the database; if unverifiable, the system refuses to guess a risk level.
The principle: Memory recalls. The database attests. The author invites feedback on where the boundary between agent memory and source of truth should sit.
