Dimitris Papail runs a back-of-envelope calculation on frontier lab ARR:

Fewer than 50M software engineers worldwide; even a very generous 100M customers paying an average $200/mo (folding API revenue in, though the long tail is well below that) puts the entire frontier model pie at under $250B/yr, shared across all providers.
Anthropic and OpenAI at $75B ARR each and flattening may already indicate a hard ceiling.
That's orders of magnitude short of the revenue implied by multiple multi-trillion-dollar valuations. API/enterprise/agent caps sit beyond this, so it's not a hard ceiling — but it's a genuinely interesting question.
