Google's Vahdat: frontier labs pick 2x capacity over five nines uptime

Amin Vahdat of Google describes two deals on the same power: five-nines availability with redundant feeds, or twice the capacity with a few days of downtime a year. Frontier AI labs take the downtime: twice the value per gigawatt effectively means half the gigawatts needed.
