Per Axios, OpenAI's business revenue has more than doubled since July, pushing its annualized run rate toward $70 billion—closing in on Anthropic, which reportedly expects to exceed $100 billion. Growth topped 70% since Q3 began, and consumer added more revenue this quarter than in all of 2025.
The author argues Anthropic's reported halving of Pro usage (and the Claude 5.5 hype) could put OpenAI on the defensive, calling the usage cut a bad judgment call.
