OpenAI and Anthropic now tied on coding, race is about who burns more GPU money
Yuchenj_UW · x · 2026-09-29
Yuchen Jin (UW researcher) argues OpenAI and Anthropic are now essentially tied on coding LLMs. The real competition is over whose $100/$200 Pro plan is more generous and who resets usage more often — ultimately a question of who has more GPUs and is willing to lose more money to win the market. He leaves open the possibility that Gemini 4 changes everything.
