Microsoft Research, with the Broad Institute, introduces Quine — a multimodal world model of biology plus an interactive harness connecting models, scientific tools, literature, wet labs and researchers.

- The world model jointly trains across genomics, proteins, chemistry, RNA/cell state and bioimaging, letting evidence in one modality inform predictions in another
- The harness forms an accelerating loop: question → proposals → experiment designs → measurements that sharpen both science and model
Cancer application (PDAC)
- Tests the hypothesis that tumor behavior depends on transcriptional cell state, not just genetics
- Quine predicted and ranked thousands of compounds for tumor-state shifts; top-ranked candidates produced the largest intended shifts across wet-lab assays
