Ginkgo Bioworks and Apheris have launched the Antibody Developability Consortium with founding members AbbVie, Takeda, argenx, and Lundbeck.
- Members contribute proprietary antibody sequences; Apheris's federated learning lets them co-fund and improve models without sharing raw proprietary data
- Ginkgo Datapoints' antibody developability service runs the assays and fills remaining capacity from public sources, targeting 10,000 antibodies total
- Goal: build the field's largest standardized antibody developability dataset to help pharma predict manufacturability and developability risks earlier
The consortium is open to additional pharma and biotech members.
