Nvidia and AMD lobby Trump to keep China chip sales flowing, opposing AI OVERWATCH Act

Per Politico, Nvidia and AMD are lobbying the Trump administration to keep their chips flowing to China. Their top target is language in the AI OVERWATCH Act, introduced by House Foreign Affairs Chair Brian Mast (R-Fla.) and Sen. Jim Banks (R-Ind.), which would tighten congressional oversight of chip sales to China and other adversaries. Industry officials object to both House and Senate versions: "There's almost no point engaging in redlining. The intent and core of the bill is not workable."
