NVIDIA open-sources OpenShell, a safe private runtime for autonomous AI agents
NVIDIA · github · 2026-09-29
NVIDIA released OpenShell on GitHub, an open-source runtime written in Rust designed to be a safe, private execution environment for autonomous AI agents. The repo has already drawn 9.9k stars (+978 in a day).
The project targets the core problem of letting agents operate without exposing the host system — isolation, safety, and privacy for autonomous execution. Details are still sparse, but an official NVIDIA entry into agent sandboxing is notable for anyone building agent infrastructure.
