DeepMind's Pushmeet Kohli leads DOE Genesis Mission AI-for-science roadmap

Pushmeet Kohli of Google DeepMind was invited by the U.S. DOE's Under Secretary for Science to serve as Vice-Chair of the Genesis Mission subcommittee, advising the DOE on using AI to accelerate scientific breakthroughs. The newly released report, "Genesis Mission Frameworks for AI-Accelerated National Breakthroughs," lays out three priority areas: AI-enabled biology, accelerated fusion energy, and magnet sovereignty. Kohli co-authored the report with Drew Endy and Lara Jehi and led the chapter "Harnessing Biology at Digital Speed," which outlines a national campaign to speed up biological discovery with AI.
