LSE to host emerging tech workshop on AI and productivity with Chad Jones keynoting in December

LSE's STICERD will host an Emerging Technologies workshop on December 10-11, 2026, examining how new technologies—especially AI—affect productivity growth and economic reallocation. Organized by Maarten de Ridder, JADHazell and Chen Lian, with a keynote by Chad Jones.
Themes include innovation and diffusion, changes in job tasks and firm organization, firm boundaries, and the role of competition and platforms. Speakers include Alex Imas, Xavier Jaravel, Laura Veldkamp, and Tania Babina. The event is open to the public with hybrid attendance.
