DeepMind's Pushmeet Kohli co-leads DOE Genesis Mission AI-for-science roadmap

Pushmeet Kohli, VP of Research at Google DeepMind, was invited by the U.S. Department of Energy's Under Secretary for Science to serve as Vice-Chair of the Genesis Mission science advisory committee, which advises on using AI to accelerate scientific breakthroughs.
The committee released its report, "Genesis Mission Frameworks for AI-Accelerated National Breakthroughs," covering three priority areas:
- AI-enabled biology
- Accelerated fusion energy
- Magnet sovereignty
Kohli co-authored with Drew Endy and Lara Jehi, leading the chapter "Harnessing Biology at Digital Speed," which lays out a national campaign to accelerate biology research with AI.
