DeepMind's Pushmeet unveils DOE Genesis Mission report on AI-accelerated science

Pushmeet Kohli, science lead at Google DeepMind, revealed he serves as Vice-Chair of the Science Advisory Committee for the U.S. Department of Energy's Genesis Mission, invited by Under Secretary for Science Dario Gil to advise on using AI to accelerate scientific breakthroughs. The committee released its report, "Genesis Mission Frameworks for AI-Accelerated National Breakthroughs," covering three priority areas: AI-enabled biology, accelerated fusion energy, and magnet sovereignty. Kohli co-authored with Drew Endy and Lara Jehi and led the "Harnessing Biology at Digital Speed" chapter, laying out a national campaign to advance biology research at digital speed.
