Anthropic's Thorsten Schottiaux announced that Pro $200 subscriptions reopen to new subscribers tomorrow, with a new usage calculation that nets out at roughly half the dollar in API spend versus the old plan. His rationale: (a) no compromises elsewhere — the 5-hour cap won't return, so users can fully spend their weekly quota when they want; (b) Anthropic guarantees subscribers get more work done over time at rising quality, as efficiency gains are passed down via API price reductions.
