Instinct raises $1B at $10B valuation, one month after $2.5B, for an agent with its own phone

Per Reuters, San Francisco startup Instinct raised a $1B Series C at a $10B valuation on Sept 28 — up from $2.5B just a month earlier — led by Sequoia, Benchmark and Coatue. Founded by Noah Shinn, the invite-only personal AI agent uses its own phone and computer to complete tasks end to end: planning trips, ordering groceries, canceling subscriptions, booking restaurants that don't take online reservations. Recent releases include a Concierge phone-call service and a trusted-person network letting one user's agent coordinate with friends' agents. The poster raises key questions: does the callee know it's an agent, is there an audit trail of channels used, and which calls require user consent first?
