Bain & Co. tells Bloomberg that AI needs $6 trillion in annual revenue by 2031 to justify today's data-center spending. Existing consumer and enterprise AI services could supply up to $1.8T, leaving a $4.2T gap. Bain expects nascent markets to fill it — robotics, autonomous machines, drug discovery, mental health, and energy generation. That bar is 3x the one Bain set a year ago ($2T by 2030, with an $800B shortfall).
