- He was inspired by an a16z podcast where CompleteSkeptic described winning a Kaggle competition as the launch point of his AI career.
- Greg Brockman (@gdb) practiced newly learned deep-learning skills on Kaggle before co-founding OpenAI.
- Tom Brown (@NotTomBrown) used Kaggle projects while teaching himself machine learning, later became first author of the GPT-3 paper, and co-founded Anthropic.
- François Chollet (@fchollet) introduced Keras to Kaggle competitors early on and hosted the first ARC-AGI competition on Kaggle — a benchmark that has become an influential test of frontier AI reasoning.
