Anthropic has filed for an IPO, with a prospectus seen by Reuters suggesting it could seek a valuation above $2 trillion.
- 2025 revenue: $4.59B, up 1,088% YoY from $386M
- Operating loss widened to $8.06B (from $2.98B); GAAP net loss hit $41.97B vs $8.31B in 2024
- Roughly $34B of that net loss is an accounting charge from rising values of financing instruments convertible into shares, not operating cash spend
- Compute and infrastructure spend reached $7.33B, up 190% YoY — nearly 3x the prior year
Quipping on the numbers, zivravid invoked the classic line: if you owe the bank $100, that's your problem; owe $518B, it's everyone else's.
