AIHOT, an AI news site with 1M monthly users, goes open source after one-day AI rewrite

Indie developer Kazz has open-sourced AIHOT, an AI news aggregator that grew from an internal Feishu bot into a site with 1M monthly users and 100K Skill users. Repo: github.com/KKKKhazix/AIHOT.
- The original codebase was an unmaintainable mess, so he rewrote it over the Mid-Autumn holiday using a first-principles approach: instead of letting models read the legacy code, he used Codex (GPT-6Astra) to distill the old project into a decoupled functional spec and handoff package, cross-checked with Claude Fable5.1, then had Claude Opus5.5 do the actual rebuild.
- The 2.0 architecture is cleanly modular, componentized on the frontend, with redesigned UI and much better performance; it's agent-friendly, requiring minimal context to navigate.
- Everything is open-sourced: collection pipeline, scoring/clustering logic, and all production prompts (source lists withheld).
- He frames it as a general framework: people in any industry can have their agent swap in domain sources and ranking criteria to build their own vertical news monitor. No monetization planned.
