AI commentator teortaxesTex argues the current product competition (Sol/Opus, even Astra/Fable) is a sideshow: both OpenAI and Anthropic have enough capital to keep training frontier models for over a year, and Anthropic may actually be the more desperate of the two. What matters, he says, is how HPIM responds to general post-training.
He adds that barring administrative fiat or extraordinary circumstances, both labs are effectively unkillable and will keep this rivalry going well past ASI.
