Start Enterprise AI Transformation With Engineering: Measure First, Then Redesign One Workflow Around Agents

In a reposted thread, @mardehaym argues enterprise-wide AI transformation should start with engineering:
- Built-in measurement: tickets, pull requests, reviews and deployments already track delivery time, quality, rework and cost, so impact can be compared before and after.
- Hard-won skepticism: engineering leaders know from experience that buying better tools doesn't automatically improve delivery.
- A repeatable playbook: pick one workflow, find the bottleneck, redesign around what agents can handle versus where humans decide, then measure the delta.
Along the way teams must answer questions every other function will face — what counts as a good result, who approves actions, how mistakes are caught, who owns outcomes. Solving them in engineering provides a template for the rest of the company.
