Aviern, a YC-affiliated startup, builds autonomous unmanned aircraft for geospatial intelligence, starting with oil and gas transmission pipeline inspection.
- A one-time dock is installed beside the line; the plane flies scheduled autonomous missions monitored in real time.
- One pass returns imagery, encroachment findings, leak signatures and terrain models, georeferenced to mileposts in GIS-ready formats.
- It detects unpermitted excavation, structures within 25 ft, new access tracks, vegetation encroachment, vapour plumes, subsidence and cover loss. A demo shows 118 miles flown, 7 new findings, and a 31s median alert time.
