ChatGPT Located SSD Sectors and Rebuilt a Deleted Blender Project from Scratch

A Reddit user accidentally deleted a procedural Blender project and emptied the trash. Recuva found nothing and Recoverit wanted payment.
ChatGPT then analyzed Recoverit's local scan metadata: it located the SQLite database, matched runlists to physical SSD sectors, read the raw disk, found the ZIP header, central directory and .blend entry, and analyzed Deflate/Zstandard streams in hex. Several sectors were already overwritten, so full binary recovery failed.
The save: Codex session logs still contained the exact procedural scripts. Rebuilt and rerun, the scene came back with 146 node groups, 926 objects and 284,304 vertices — exactly matching the recorded metrics — with embedded scripts and textures intact.
