AMD announced an all-stock deal worth roughly $8.2 billion to acquire World Labs, the AI lab co-founded by Dr. Fei-Fei Li in 2024, which hit a $1 billion valuation within months and launched Marble, a world model that turns prompts into interactive 3D worlds. The deal is expected to close by year-end; Li becomes AMD's EVP and chief scientist reporting to CEO Lisa Su, while the team continues AI model research.
