Physicist Kyle Cranmer argues that AI's impressive results may not reveal much about the nature of intelligence, but they do say something about the value of hard work and persistence.
Citing Anthropic's recent "nine loops" result, he suggests we can get there by "turning the crank" — sophisticated as it is — without introducing any genuinely new ideas, adding that the N-S approach wasn't that different.
