Nerdearla's Vibeathon hackathon produced 81 open-source AI projects in 24 hours, packing 650-seat halls for Google DeepMind and Google Cloud sessions. Many projects built real-time captioning and translation for conference rooms on Gemini Live and Gemma: OpenCaptions (captions plus talk summaries), Glosa (QR-based, 33x cheaper than commercial tools), Zorvex Live (fully local Whisper + Gemma, audio never leaves the room), and NerdSubs (OBS integration, SRT/Premiere export).
