JupyterLite WebMCP puts a coding agent inside your live browser notebook

OpenAI's developer account showcases JupyterLite WebMCP (by Allison Coleman and Juan Mendoza), plus Faraday, an agent that navigates 3D scans via WebMCP.
- The problem: a notebook's live state — unsaved edits, your exact selection, the in-memory DataFrame, kernel state — exists only in the browser tab. Copy-paste gives the model a dead snapshot; server-side MCP reads files that don't match your screen; JupyterLite has no server at all.
- The fix: all 22 registered tools operate on tab-local state — the live NotebookPanel model, cursor and selection, the shared Pyodide/WebAssembly kernel, IndexedDB contents, and review threads stored in notebook metadata. WebMCP isn't just convenient here — it's the only option.
