Local AI lemon inspection on a MacBook catches 4 defects out of 44
iamrobotbear · x · 2026-09-28
A practical fully-local AI quality-inspection demo: lemons rolling down a conveyor are inspected one by one, entirely on a MacBook.
- Each lemon is checked 3 times; passing requires 3 clean results, any defect flags rejection
- In the video, 4 defective lemons (1 moldy, 3 bruised) were caught out of 44
- Classification uses "Jev-Omni" (inspired by Jev); detection uses Roboflow's RF-DETR
The author says the setup could be used directly in real production settings.
