François Chollet: Hand-writing code no longer pays off, LRMs unlock better workflows

Keras creator François Chollet says he no longer reads or writes code and only instructs an LRM — not because model code quality is good, but because LRMs unlock new ways to control and understand systems: faster testing, component audits, visualizations, and red-teaming, all at high speed.
His argument: the benefits of reading code can now be achieved by other means, and since LRMs are fast enough to build new workflows around, the ROI of hand-writing code simply no longer looks good compared to these LRM-centric workflows.
