MongoDB names CJ Desai CEO as Dev Ittycheria retires after 11 years

MongoDB has appointed Chirantan "CJ" Desai as President and CEO, effective November 10, succeeding Dev Ittycheria, who retires from the operating role after 11 years but stays on the board as advisor.
The board said its search targeted leaders with cloud infrastructure, AI, and enterprise software experience. Desai previously was President/COO at ServiceNow and led product and engineering at Cloudflare. MongoDB also guided Q3 FY26 results above the high end of guidance, driven by Atlas strength. Notably, Meta simultaneously announced CJ Desai as its Chief Enterprise Platform Officer — an apparent conflict worth watching.
