Cloudflare released Vinext 1.0, seven months after a week-long AI-driven experiment birthed the Vite-backed Next.js alternative. Key points:
- 99%+ compatibility for core features across App Router and Pages Router (RSC, Server Actions, middleware), with Next.js's e2e suite run nightly to catch regressions.
- Full page lifecycle: build-time prerendering, page-level ISR, path/tag revalidation, and static export.
- Unified caching plus OpenTelemetry/Sentry-compatible tracing.
- "Cache warming": prerendering moves off the build machine to Cloudflare's network — new versions deploy at 0% traffic, warm high-traffic pages, then promote, avoiding hours of building long-tail pages.
